The Bondage Man Wax Play Candles Review

It’s not secret to anyone who follows me on twitter or knows me in the real world, that I am a major candle fan!  I think that’s a mild understatement, to be honest.  I am crazy about candles, be it yankee, village, shop’s own brands or candles that I can use for wax play.  So when Uberkinky asked if I would like to review a a set of 3 wax play candles, I jumped at the chance to get my mitts on them.the bondage man wax play candle set

I have kindly been sent The Bondage Man Wax Play Candles (set of 3) for free, to review honestly on behalf of Uberkinky.

These candles are homemade, by a sub/dom couple.  I have been following The Bondage Candle duo for some time on social medias and their dedication to wax play, is something that I am in awe of.  Not only do they delve into extremes with how they use their wax but they are a friendly and informative couple to talk to.  The Bondage Man company, came about for the simple fact that there wasn’t much variety of wax play candles but with their knowledge, they started making their own personal wax play candles and the company pretty much grew from there, 4 years on and who knew how popular the bondage man candles, would be?

These candles are made from soy wax, which has a low burn temperature and makes it ideal for wax play.  This means that, due to it melting at a low point, it’s setting temperature will be low too, thus not burning the skin upon contact.  I have previously written a blog post of Wax Play (here), it maybe of some interest to you.

The Bondage Man candles are made from natural botanical ingredients, soy beans and the wick.  The only additive is that of the dye for the candle colours.  Although some colours may melt quicker than another colour, it doesn’t change the melting point of the candle. The candles I received measured 10 cm’s in length and 2.74 cm’s in overall diameter.  These candles are all hand made, so they may slightly differ in size but not by much at all.

The 3 candles I have reviewed are in the colours red, purple and black and came in a see-through plastic sealed bag that had an instruction and ingredient card, within.  Although the candle’s own packaging is minimal, Uberkinky ensured that the candles were safe in transit and had wrapped them in bubble wrap, within the parcel.

As these candles are made from soy, you will find that they have a frosted look and feel to them, this isn’t a problem at all, it’s simply how the ingredient sets.

To use is simple, stand the candle upright and light it.  I would suggest putting a mat or towel under the candles, as they will drip and it will protect the flat surface that your candle(s) is on.  It won’t take long at all, for your candle to start melting, I found within 5 minutes, a decent amount of wax liquid was ready to use.  Do pick up your candle(s) gently, otherwise the wax will spill of the edge.  Once you are over your intended partner, simply tip the candle and let the wax drip.  The lower you hold the candle to the skin, the hotter the wax will feel, basic science really!

All 3 of my candle set, were used at the same time and just under an hour and a half, I still had half a candle left!  That is actually good for a wax play candle, as I usually find they melt very quickly.  The wax wasn’t too hot, if I am honest, which makes me feel that these candles would be ideal for those venturing into wax play or had never tried it before.

Once the wax sets fully, you can remove it by simply picking it off or rubbing.  The dried wax is really easy to remove I also found that these candles left my skin feeling very soft and revived!

Here’s a little extra tip…..if you suffer with joint aches like arthritis, leaving the wax on the achy area, actually helps to relieve the pains and is very therapeutic.  This year, I had been diagnosed with Gout (a form of arthritis that effects the foot area), don’t worry folks as I am absolutely fine.  This means my feet/ankles and toes have a lovely habit of swelling when they feel like it!  I have found that using wax as a therapeutic agent, has made a world of difference and has cut down the amount of times (daily) that this Gout flares up.

I will be straight forward, the Bondage Man Candles have been the best wax play candles, that I have had the pleasure using!  You can purchase your very own set of candles for £14.99 GBP, over on Uberkinky.

The RRP of £14.99 GBP, is a price I’d happily pay for a set of these candles.  They do the job and go that little step further.  Other intended wax play candles that I have experienced, don’t leave your skin feeling fresh and revived, like these ones do.

But don’t take my word for it, try these candles out for yourself!
